Kū Hou ʻAna exists to empower youth through Christ-centered mentorship, leadership development, and outrigger canoe paddling — building discipline, character, faith, and unity on and off the water.

Our mission:

We believe the ocean is more than a training ground — it is a place where young people learn perseverance, responsibility, teamwork, and trust in Ke Akua.
Through paddling, mentorship, and community, we help youth grow:
  • Strong in faith
  • Disciplined in character
  • Confident in leadership
  • Connected in ʻohana

Our vision is to raise a generation of strong, respectful, and faith-filled young leaders in Hawaiʻi who grow in purpose, responsibility, and deep connection to akua, family, and community.

Our vision:

We see a future where every young person who joins Kū Hou ʻAna:

  • discovers their God-given strength

  • learns to lead with humility

  • develops lifelong discipline

  • finds belonging in a supportive paddling ʻohana

Paddling teaches lessons no classroom can: the early mornings. the pull of the water. the rhythm of the stroke. the commitment to finish strong.

why we paddle:

On the canoe, youth learn that growth takes effort, faith takes courage, and success comes from perseverance together.

At Kū Hou ʻAna, we paddle with purpose —for growth, for character, and for Christ.

Open water training helps youth build confidence, ocean awareness, discipline, and respect while learning to stay calm, focused, and responsible on the water. Through guided training and mentorship, paddlers grow stronger in character, teamwork, and faith.

Where vision meets action.

At Kū Hou ʻAna, every paddler starts with the basics — learning safety, technique, and ocean awareness step by step. As they grow in skill, confidence, and commitment, they are guided toward more advanced training, including paddling in deeper open waters under supervision.

Our experienced mentors focus first on building strong foundations so each child develops the discipline, knowledge, and confidence needed to paddle safely and responsibly.
